About Sun Yat-Sen Business School (SYSBS)

With a long-standing tradition in the arts, sciences, medicine, and engineering, Sun Yat-Sen University is recognized as one of China’s top 10 most prestigious and comprehensive universities.

Established in 1985, SYSBS was one of the first schools to be engaged in business education. It is currently rated a first-in-class business tertiary education institution in China and its academic and professional programs consistently rank among the top 10 in the country. Sun Yat-Sen Business School has a total of 115 full-time faculty members and currently offers eight bachelor programs, nine master programs, four master-level professional programs (MBA, EMBA, MPAcc, and MPM), eight doctoral programs, and one post-doctoral research program in Business Administration. The School has approximately 2,000 undergraduate students, 2,500 master-level graduate students, and 250 PhD students.

Internationally accredited by both AMBA and EQUIS, SYSBS is determined to build upon their reputation as a premier business school in China and Asia with regional and global impact. SYSBS has earned a reputation for academic excellence (e.g. 98% employment rate for graduates), internationalization (30% of the faculty hold doctorate degrees from leading schools from around the world; over 50 courses are offered in English; approximately 70 full-time or visiting foreign students each year), quality of the programs (e.g., the MBA program is accredited by AMBA and is persistently ranked among the top four in China), and contributions to society.

Since 2000, SYSBS has established collaborative academic exchanges and programs with over 70 prestigious international institutions. It has built strategic partnerships with leading multinational organizations, such as IBM, DHL, Ernst & Young, PWC, KPMG, DTT, Coca-Cola, Allianz Group; as well as establishing numerous local partnerships with such organizations as ICBC Bank, Bank of China, China Petroleum, and China Southern Power Grid.

SYSBS has a faculty with strong and established research and scholarly activities. Over the past three years, the faculty has published over 760 research papers and 57 books; they have collectively received 35 major awards for their academic excellence. An upward trend is present with respect to both quality and quantity of SYSBS faculty's research record.
